What is Wellness?

What is Wellness?Wellness is a healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit.  It is a dynamic process involving the harmony of physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual wellbeing.  Each of these key components is instrumental in the development of healthier living and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Wellness enables employees to function to the best of their ability by providing opportunities of awareness and guidance in practicing healthy choices.

Is Wellness important?

Is Wellness Important?YES!  Wellness increases our chances of leading long and productive lives. Every decision we make leads to future consequences – good or bad.  For example, if we choose to eat right and exercise, we are rewarded by longevity and health. If we choose to eat poorly or engage in behavior such as smoking, we experience the negative consequences associated with our behaviors.  Ultimately, it is a conscientious decision by each of us to make the positive choices necessary to improve our mental and physical health.
